About Us

Hello!

I am Jacki Walczak (she/her),MOT, OTR/L, the owner and sole occupational therapist at Groundwork OT. I have extensive experience working with children and young adults across diverse settings including clinics, teletherapy, schools, applied behavior analysis, and non-profits. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. I have also completed BCBA coursework at the Florida Institute of Technology. I taught as an adjunct professor in the LSUHSC-New Orleans OT masters program, and continue to guest lecture each semester.  I have developed programs, provided trainings in schools and communities, and spearheaded advocacy efforts to improve access to services and resources for people with disabilities. Furthermore, I have interdisciplinary leadership training in working with children and youth who have neurodevelopmental and other related disorders.  My expertise includes helping individuals with autism, genetic and developmental disorders, mental health difficulties, executive functioning issues , sensory processing and motor impairments to gain independence in their daily lives.

Native to the driftless region of southwest Wisconsin, I lived in New Orleans for 14 years, and recently returned to WI to set roots. At any given moment, you can most likely find me gardening, dancing with my littles, hiking, biking, listening to music, drawing by the river, or cooking with friends and family.
